Is Change do more good than bad?

Is been a while since I last updated this blog. Indeed a hectic month for May and June, overwhelmed by tonnes of changes and changes, surprises, fear and uncertainty in work place. People were having "corridor meetings', spreading rumors and fear (which i always regarded rumors as asshole. Rumor=asshole, everybody has).
To me, change is good for certain context and particularly in this case; i find it excellent but it should had happened years ago. This reflects how "slow" we can be for the fact that we were recognized as the "Best". I believe what makes it hard is not the change itself, but our tendency to want to hold on to the unchanged. We resist, often illogically, to move away from how things used to be even if the past seemed highly imperfect and dissatisfying at the time when it was the present. It feels comforting, I guess, to hang on with screeching tooth-nails to the familiar, when facing the unknown.

Now that the change is here though i feel it has been long due. One piece of advise i would like to give and hopefully i have the opportunity to do that is, change for the future and not change the past. The change should be future proof and it shouldn't be done that often. Change now so that you won't be "ex-changed"!

Talking Tech- How to install Whatsapp in BB Z10

I am not going to "re-write" a review about the Balckberry Z10 but to simply show you the simplest way to sideload/ install some famous android apps into your blackberry Z10. (For those apps that are not available in Blackberry world yet)

I am sure you would agree with me that the Z10 is a one hell of a well designed device from Blackberry coupled with full gesture-base user-interface.

To cut things short, here are steps on how you sideload whatsapp into your blackberry z10.

First of all, you need to download some programs to your computer before sideloading the app.
  • Download and install the Java Runtime Environment suited for your PC. - Link
  • Download and install the DDPB installer - Link
  • Download Whatsapp bar file - Link
Once you have completed the above, you need to set up your BlackBerry 10 device for developer mode. To gain access to these settings, you can go to Settings > Security and Privacy > Development Mode. Just tap the on button where you will be presented with a screen either asking you enter your password or if you do not currently have one set, it will ask you to create one. Remember this password, it is important. Copy down the IP address too.

Next, you're going to open up the DDPB program from your PC you've downloaded and installed previously. Once up and running, connect your BlackBerry to your computer using the USB cable. Key in the IP address where it says "IP Development Mode" and click Scan. Key in the device password and click connect. (It will be the same password which you previously created when enabling Development Mode)

Once your device is connected with DDPB, simply click on the "Add" button then browse to where you stored your downloaded .BAR files and add them to the list.

Wahhh lahhhhh, your app will be installed.

Last but not least, please proceed to turn off the Development Mode.

Enjoy your Z10 and Whatsapp!

The change of Alpha Dogs and The Pack Leader. Good or bad?

A few unexpected ways to start the 2013.

While I am still in the hopeful, "anything is possible", stay positive mood in the first month of the new year, unexpected and shocking news are inevitably rushing in. The greatest of all news was the "retirement" of the pack leader and follow suite by a few Alpha Dogs too. So, is this a good sign or a bad one?

We, humans are innately "pack" animals. We instinctually need to belong to a pack because we know we cannot survive without a pack. This applies to every one of us regardless of our basic personality or temperament. Therefore, it is foolish if you ever penned this down in your resume "i can work independently". Evidently, we can't do that and we are inter-dependent to each other that's why we work in pack. Every pack is governed by rules and guidelines established and enforced by our Alpha or pack leader. All the remaining pack members have defined positions within the "pack pecking order/hierarchy" and this pecking order/hierarchy and the role are essential to the ultimate "survival" of the pack. The Alpha is entrusted with the responsibility for establishing the pecking order, pack rules, and maintaining order within the pack. The strongest, the weakest and all in between still need to be part of a pack and in return the pack needs to have an effective alpha/pack leader who ultimately ensures the longevity of "the pack".

It is crucial that the pack leader and alpha provide a stable pack environment. Now, so much said so and with the "departure" of the pack leader and few alphas, can we survive the ultimate challenges ahead of us? We will see.

Well, not all pack leaders have the capability to lead the pack. When one failed to do that, it will just have to wait for another Alpha or pack follower that has bigger balls to challenge it. The winner will be determined by "fight" and of course the weaker one will be out and in this case, usually is the "old" one. So, please stay away from the pack and let the new leader to take the lead before the pack is being slaughtered. Well, is this necessary? Indeed and of course it does, to ensure the survival of the pack.

Still, I am keeping my fingers crossed and stay in the hopeful, "anything is possible", positive mood for many more "moons" to come.

Woof woof!

Talking Tech- Your Apple ID Has Been Disbaled

Getting error message "Your Apple ID Has Been Disabled" on your iPhone/iPad whenever you are accessing iTunes for updates/downloading apps? Frustrated? Well, 2 things might have went wrong. 1st- You or some one else uses your device and entered wrong apple password in multiple attempts. ( This usually can be resolved easily by just resetting your apple id online and here is the link https://iforgot.apple.com/iForgot/iForgot.html ).

The 2nd possibility is a bit tricky and it usually happen when the credit card that you'd registered in iTunes has been compromised. You probably already called the c.card issuing bank and lodged report on some unauthorized iTunes purchases, this will trigger Apple to disable your ID and the best part is it won't work with the solution given above (Possibility 1). This is exactly what you need to do. Go to this link https://expresslane.apple.com/ServiceOptionAction.action,

put the description as: Apple ID Has been disabled

Details: I can log on to the Apple website to manage my account and all the information is correct, but I get “Your Apple ID has been disabled” when I try to get something from App Store on my iPhone and iPad. I have also tried resetting my password and yet i still getting the same response whenever i try to download or update any app. Please assist.

So what's next? You have to wait for an email from Apple support. This is when your luck does count. It may take a day or even a week to get a response, so cool down. If you got an answer, you will probably given a tollfree number to call with case id attached (your call maybe answered in China ) and when the call is connected, please request to transfer your call to the id security team. I know I know, it's very troublesome and indeed it was when it happened on me. It took me almost a week to figure it out but problem resolved eventually.

Hit a "Wow" if it does help.

Talking Tech- Galaxy S (Custom ROM vs iPhone 5)

This test was done between Galaxy S (Custom ROM) and iPhone 5. As you can see, the galaxy s is just 0.5 of a second slower than the iPhone 5 in opening a webpage. The Galaxy S is no doubt a faster machine now with the custom ROM however it comes with a price of heavy battery consumptions. Well, what you can do to overcome this is to turn off all auto sync and get a 3rd party battery with higher mAh. This is no talk kuku and the test was done in a fair manner.

Talking Tech- Rumored 2013 smart phones

2013 is shaping up to be even bigger and better when it comes to smartphones than 2012.

I'm sure you have heard enough and let's keep this as record and track whether or not it will happen.

Take a look at the list below:

Source: Know your mobile

Nexus 5
Following on from the launch of the wonderful Google Nexus 4 was announced in October 2012, the Galaxy Nexus 5 is already hitting the rumour mill.

Apparently, it will be manufactured by HTC, the company's second device in the Nexus range.

The HTC One X 5 will be the Google Nexus 5 and although details are a little sparse, it is said to feature a snapdragon S4 Pro CPU, 12-megapixel camera and 64GB internal storage.

With a 5-inch screen, 2500mAh battery and LTE connectivity, it will hopefully stick to the bargain basement of the Nexus 4 to get favour in our books.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be up the follow up to the Galaxy Note 2 and following on from the top-selling phablet of 2012.

According to tales, it will be released in September 2013 with a 6.3-inch screen after Samsung develops its larger OLED screens.

Samsung Galaxy S4
We voted the Samsung Galaxy S4 as our favourite phone of 2012 and the Galaxy S4 is set to dwarf that.

The device will be slimmer, and lighter, with a bigger screen, possibly up to 5-inches like the Galaxy Note. Resolution is set to stand around 1920x1080 pixels and the processor will storm the competition with one quad-core cluster running at 1.8GHz for high performance apps, and the other running at 1.2GHz for energy efficiency.

Release date rumours vary from April to May/June. Samsung will not launch a device at CES or Mobile World Congress, but opt to run its own event.

HTC M7
The HTC M7 sounds like the biggest and best HTC device yet, with an almost- phablet-sized 4.7-inch screen with a pixel density of a staggering 468ppi.

A quad-core 1.7GHz processor will power the beast and it will run on Android Key Lime Pie according to rumours.

The device will launch in Spring, suggesting in may be unveiled at CES in January or Mobile World Congress in February.

BlackBerry L Series
BlackBerry 10 has been official for a long time and while we've been waiting, multiple pictures of the device have leaked into the wild.

Rumours say the first device will be named the L Series, or just plain London.

A 4.2-inch screen will adorn the front of the handset and a Quad-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro powering it all.

The release date? Probably at the launch of BlackBerry 10 on January 30.

iPhone 5S
Apple has the worst reputation for keeping launches quiet and the iPhone 5S will probably be no different.

From initial images, it looks as though the design will be very similar to the iPhone 5 with a 4-inch display.

Packed in supposedly, will be 4G LTE, compatible with all UK networks running the 800MHz and 2.6GHz bandwidth.

Running on iOS 7, we're hoping the UI will be completely overhauled.

Sony Xperia Z
The Sony Xperia Z is set to be the best Sony yet, with a 5-inch LCD screen rather than OLED and based on Qualcomm's quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro.

The back is glass, just like the iPhone, although there aren't any further rumours of what it will look like.

With a 12-megapixel camera (or possibly kick ass-16-megapixel number), the Sony could give something to compete with Nokia.

The Sony Xperia Z will appear at CES in January and then again in February at Mobile World Congress.

LG Optimus G
The LG Optimus G, as announced in the US, will be hitting the UK in 2013 with a few tweaks, but not a lot else has been announced.

With a quad-core Qualcomm S4 Pro processor and 4.7-inch screen, it looks to take the Nexus 4 on, although we'd expect a higher price-point.

With a 2100mAh battery, it will solve the age-old smartphone foible of a short battery life with some luck and 4G will ensure lighting fast data speeds.

LG confirmed at the US launch that the device ‘will be available in Europe from Q1 2013. European customer and country availability will be announced later this year.'

Huawei Ascend W1 and Huawei Ascend D2
Huawei is set to launch two devices at CES and the Huawei Ascend W1 and D2 are most hotly rumoured.

The Huawei Ascend W1 has been spotted in a white and blue version, although specs are nowhere to be seen.

Huawei's CEO has confirmed the two devices will launch at CES in January.

The Huawei Ascend D2 is rumoured to include a 5-inch screen, running on Android. It will apparently include a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and 13-megapixel camera.

The windows Phone-based W1 will run on Windows Phone 8 and as a low-end device will run on a 1.2GHz processor with 4GB storage and 5-megapixel camera.

Happy New Year 2013

New year resolutions are something that go in one year and out the other. Breaking them is part of the cycle (Like Chinese saying 当食生菜). So don't simply spell your resolutions if you have yet to settle the old ones.

Wishing all Happy New Year 2013. Continue to talk ku ku and don't take things to serious if don't concern you much.

A different kind of celebration to welcome 2013

Well most of us might choose to welcome 2013 in club, pub, park and some choose to be at home....(you should know why lah). Irregardless how and where you celebrate and welcoming your new year. There is one more spot that is worth to go if you near that area. Gebeng Kuantan, that's the place you might want to go.......

I am sure there will be no talk kuku session there. All are going to be hard facts.

So whose fault

I have heard too many news about crimes recently. I have also saw many fb postings on one telling others to be carefully especially for ladies. So it usually says like this "to the ladies out there, please stay at home or be careful when you are out there". Well, I am thinking. What the neck. Why do we need to ask the ladies to stay at home or be careful. To the mothers out there, to the ladies out there and to the wifey out there. Tell you son, your boyfriend, your husband to behave so that the ladies don't have to be afraid of going out late or alone. And to the "polici" ah out there, do your job lahhhhhh.
